The Offering of Isaac – A Revelation of Spiritual Sight
This past Sunday, Pastor Omar continued his deep dive into The Offering of Isaac Act V: The Third Day, shedding light on Abraham’s journey of faith, vision, and obedience.
We often focus on the act of sacrifice, but this message revealed something equally important—the spiritual ability to see when God is moving.
The Third Day – Divine Timelines in Scripture
When Abraham and Isaac journeyed to the place of sacrifice, it was on the third day that Abraham lifted his eyes and saw a pillar of fire descend upon the exact place God was calling him.
In biblical history, the third day always marks God’s perfect timing:
- God separated the land from the water and created plants and tress on the third day
- Jonah was spit out from a fish on the third day
- Jesus rose on the third day.
This is no coincidence. God operates on a divine calendar.
The Pillar of Fire – God’s Presence Revealed
Many assume the pillar of fire first appeared during Israel’s Exodus, guiding them through the wilderness. But according to the Book of Jasher, Abraham saw it first.
This tells us something profound:
✅ God marks His chosen places with signs.
✅ God’s presence is real and still moves today.
✅ Only those with spiritual eyes will recognize when God is moving.
Can You See? The Danger of Spiritual Blindness
Eliezer, Abraham’s servant, was with them on the journey—but he didn’t see the pillar of fire. Only Abraham and Isaac did.
This is a reality check for us today:
👀 Not everyone around you will see God’s hand at work.
🚶 Not everyone is meant to go where God is leading you.
🗣️ We must move when God moves—no matter who doesn’t understand.
The Modern Connection: America as a Second Egypt
Pastor Omar also drew a powerful parallel between Israel’s bondage in Egypt and the current state of African Americans in America today—a “second Egypt.”
He warned us not to get too comfortable and reminded us that, just like the first Exodus, there will come a moment when God moves again.
Even in modern politics, he explained how what may seem unfavorable (such as leadership changes or trials in society) can actually be a setup for God’s greater plan.
What’s Your Takeaway?
Are you paying attention to God’s movement? Can you see what others cannot? Or are you letting spiritual blindness keep you stuck?
This message was a wake-up call to remain vigilant, obedient, and spiritually aware.
